Positive Reviews - An Author's Best Friend
If you’ve read & enjoyed any of my books, reviews are the very best way to support an author. At this point in my journey, Amazon & Goodreads both offer places to write reviews & rate my books. Reviews don't need to be long or complicated. Just share your reading experience to help others decide if my books are of interest to them.

If you’re on social media - Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc. - posting a photo of my book (and/or your beautiful self holding it) with a few words about what you liked, how you're looking forward to reading, etc. Sharing the Amazon link (scroll down this page for easy access) for either or both books would also be an incredible, no cost way to help me reach new readers.

Thank you for considering - you are such a blessing!
"If a book is well written, I always find it too short." Jane Austin
“Making room for a new blessing almost always requires letting something else go.” Hannah endeavors to embrace Grandma’s wise words as her wedding date approaches. Even though every new expectation has her jumping a higher hurdle from a steeper incline in this relentless pursuit to become a worthy partner for a pastor, Hannah remains determined to succeed. Yet, with all the deficits she’ll be bringing into their union, Hannah can’t cling to established routines for the sake of calming her insecurities. Choosing David requires facing her fears while letting Christ’s sanctification dig out those old, deeply-rooted habits and embracing the growing list of church duties that promise to fill every nook and cranny of her life.

Most of the surrendering has felt like growing into a more mature woman of God. Those other changes might’ve chipped away at some of her comfortable identity, but they don’t compare with the most recent sacrifice. This release tore away a piece of her soul, eradicating Hannah’s most natural connection with the Holy Spirit, which neither her fiancé nor her mother seem to grasp.

When God hands this pastime back to her and redefines it as a spiritual gift, Hannah has to figure out what that means, especially when rules are broken, the past overshadows the present, and threats become reality.

Would You Free Me
Book Two

This is the second book I have read by this author (Will You Be Mine being the first) and I enjoyed Hannah’s book even more than I did Candy’s. I liked how the two books are connected, but completely separate stories. I resonated deeply with the main character, Hannah, and I am already looking forward to the next book in her journey. I wasn’t expecting what happened, but it was the perfect way to end the book, and left me wanting more! What will Hannah show us next?

Would You Free Me - is powerfully engaging from start to finish! This talented writer draws you into the characters and provides a wonderful thought-provoking story about self reflection, how we affect others, and an overall hard look at our lives. It gives us hope to be better each day and rely on God for our true purpose. Can't wait to read more from Hali Kayhill - she has a true art of connecting to her readers. - Laurene H. - Amazon Review
"Some day you will be old enough to start reading fairy tales again." C.S. Lewis
As an abandoned daughter and single mother, Candy Nolan has experienced more rejection at twenty-five than most people endure in a lifetime. Despite having turned her life around, the guilt and shame of Candy’s past still feels branded into her soul. While she can’t be blamed for her unfortunate childhood, her failure to meet expectations, tendency to trust the wrong people, and rebellious nature all contributed to her descent into prostitution. Those unwelcome guests held her hostage until the discovery of an identical twin sister challenged Candy’s perspective.
Raine’s arrival busts open the vault of long-held secrets exposing the real beginning of Candy’s cycle of misfortune. Before her own behavior ever came into play, Raine was chosen for a fairy-tale existence in an adoption separating the infants. Bolstered by her twin’s acceptance, Candy keeps striving for improvement regardless of fate’s cruelty. She seems to be making headway in several areas and dares to believe her luck might be changing, until unexpected tragedy strikes.
When the precarious life Candy has managed to piece together starts fraying at every seam, she’s forced to risk everything. She cannot let her son endure the same devastating losses she suffered as a child even though protecting him also means leaving him. When Candy’s best efforts fall short, her only option appears to be trusting the God she has rejected on countless occasions, unless He’s given up on her too.
This is a beautiful story that was a fun read! I loved that it was set in New Mexico in the 70's. It brought back a lot of childhood memories. Candy's journey of redemption is one we all recognize somewhere in our lives and learning to let God heal us spiritually is a message that you can never get enough of. Will definitely be reading this one again-very enjoyable!

Will You Be Mine
Letters from Heaven
Book One
Many books about the search for God are over simplified. By contrast, this one explores the main character’s very real life struggle to feel God’s presence. It is a process and we get to walk with her through it. Many twists and turns keep you engaged with the story. A beautiful landscape of loss, love, and redemption. Edith D. - Amazon Review

Will You Be Mine is one of those books that you will not want to put down. It drew me in with the character's real-life struggles and reminded us that God is always with us and his love and forgiveness are constant. It is beautifully written and I am looking forward to more from this author!

This was a story of love and faith and endurance and support and learning that even though we are not perfect, God still loves us and all we have to do is find our way back to him. On another note, being someone who was adopted and having some family dynamics very similar to what was laid out in such a beautiful way in the story Gave me an even stronger connection to the characters!

We all have a past, granted. How we work through it (if we even choose to do so), determines how we progress in life. Candy, the main character in this book, shows us how transformation from undesirable beginnings is possible with God's grace. A highly enjoyable and enlightening read.

This is a story where I could relate to the characters at different points in my life. The story of Gods, love and forgiveness is overwhelming to me. Even in my own mess and wrong choices he pursues me, longs for me to return to him and helps me find my way back to him and all I have to do is open my heart and allow him to lead. The author was amazing and I look forward to reading more.

I enjoyed reading this book very much. Having grown up in New Mexico, it was fun to read about the events in the story happening in places that are familiar to me. I could identify with Candy’s story, having made mistakes in my life as well, and needing the forgiveness of others and to forgive myself. She showed a lot of courage to move ahead with her life despite her mistakes and the disadvantages of her early life. There is some brokenness in everyone’s life, and we all need redemption from that. This is a great redemption story! It’s filled with colorful characters and suspense about how their lives will intertwine and turn out. I am looking forward to reading more works by this author in the future.

This can't put down novel takes place during the Vietnam War era. Single mother Candy Nolan will do anything to protect her toddler son from living the same kind of life she did. This intriguing story is a tangled web of hurt, healing, reconciliation, love and redemption among various family members and supportive friends, including forgiveness between mother and daughter and the reunion of meeting her long-lost twin sister. There is so much woven into this novel, but it all comes together in the end. Love and forgiveness always prevail. Can't wait to read more from this author!
